the end by Iicon visions was the final project and a summary of what icon visions set out to do from the beginning.
when the art museum copenhagen contemporary invited icon visions to create the project, I knew exactly what I wanted to do: create a stylistic space that embodied the dna of Icon Visions and blurred the lines between art, fashion, and pop culture.
presented in an exhibition hall, Icon Visions opened its doors to a total installation consisting of video and audio works, live icon tv, a merchandise shop, a runway show, pop concerts, and dj sets by prominent acts from copenhagen’s music scene — both a celebration and a final bow of the brand.
the show was icon visions’ first and last runway, presenting pieces created throughout the years, styled together with the end merchandise. a cast of 30 young people in their early twenties paid homage to copenhagen youth culture, which has always been the brand’s main inspiration, audience, and community.
the shop took place inside a custom silver inflatable cube that separated the merchandise shop from the rest of the exhibition space while simultaneously functioning as an installation in itself. Inside, guests could purchase the End merchandise consisting of t-shirts, hoodies, posters, tote bags, tapes, and zines.
the party unfolded throughout the night as an opportunity for the audience to immerse themselves in an aesthetic steeped in nostalgia, youth, and pop culture. it culminated in a series of memorable moments — a final dance, a poignant farewell kiss, and a celebration of the creativity that encapsulates Icon Visions.
the stage featured live performances by the bird and infernal, as well as dj sets by esben weile kjær, oqbqbo, and ryong b2b angel wei.
the aftermath remained untouched as an exhibited installation in the following days. Museum guests could experience video and audio works, the icon archive, and the merchandise shop while wandering among empty drink cups and cigarette butts.
