ICON VISIONS (2018–2024)
FOUNDER & DIRECTOR

i founded icon visions in 2018 with the intent to challenge traditional understandings of what a fashion brand is. built on a passion for visual products, pop culture, and community, Icon Visions became a space to test ideas and concepts for and with like-minded creatives in copenhagen.

icon visions challenged the norms of dressing and became the starting point of a nostalgic “ugly chic” style that influenced copenhagen’s youth for years to come, rooted in diversity and an intuitive design approach. the designs felt easy, unexpected, and sometimes slightly weird, but were always produced within a responsible production framework, using deadstock fabrics to create handworked, unique pieces - valuing individuality over mass production.

it also challenged the traditional way of creating collections. icon visions was not defined by seasons, but by concepts and collaborations. cecilie jørgensen’s special ability to create unexpected concepts and strong storytelling was evident in every project, and each collection felt almost like a brand of its own.

collaborations became a defining part of Icon Visions’ dna and included design collections, artist collaborations, pop-up shops, video formats, parties, and exhibitions. Each concept and collaboration almost turned into a brand of its own - creating a universe around the product and blurring the lines between mediums and art forms.

in 2024, the brand said its farewell in what became an immersive event called the end. a party, runway show, exhibition, and concert lineup wrapped up the brand across its various mediums and invited the copenhagen community to the art museum copenhagen contemporary, where it all took place. It was a summary of what the brand had been - mixing projects, collaborators, and aesthetics throughout all six years.

 

CECILIE COPENHAGEN (2014–2020)
FOUNDER & DIRECTOR

cecilie copenhagen was founded in 2014, while studying at the fashion design academy in copenhagen at the mere age of 17. the brand evolved from an intuitive creation of a blouse and a pair of shorts crafted in traditional partisan scarves, that became the brand’s design signature.

instagram quickly became the key branding platform, and led to a quickly growing following. the first collections were sold from a small backroom in copenhagen, where people queued for hours to get their hands on the now iconic set. the breakthrough came when danish stylist and influencer pernille teisbæk wore the design on national television. 

what began as a strong direct to consumer business quickly expanded into wholesale, as leading international retailers approached the brand.

cecilie copenhagen, was stocked some of the world's most leading luxury stores including browns fashion, liberty london, matches fashion, net-a-porter, farfetch, parlour x and boutique 1, and hosted a pop up at browns during london fashion week. the brand was featured in vogue australia, elle, harper’s bazaar, wallpaper* and the times, nominated for brand of the year at the elle style awards, and recognised as a Royal warrant holder. the bold monochrome set became a street style staple worn by influencers worldwide.

after a decade of international growth and recognition, I chose to step away from the brand in 2020.
